Marina Oudenaarde

As part of the ‘Oudenaarde Scheldekop’ project, Herbosch-Kiere has renovated the marina at Scheldeboorden in Oudenaarde.

The existing quay wall was replaced with a new, stable structure featuring a separate walkway and railing. Additionally, a new 370-meter-long dock was installed, equipped with modern shore power facilities and safe access via gates and ramps. The renovated marina now accommodates 25 pleasure craft, making it a significant reception point for visitors arriving via the waterway to Oudenaarde.

Furthermore, the Trekweg Linkeroever was renovated and widened, providing a safe access route to the new residential developments on the Scheldekop. The bank was adapted with a quay wall to ensure stability. A new slipway was constructed on the right bank to facilitate the launching and retrieval of vessels.

The renovation also included substantial greening of the area. Various tree species were planted, including in tree bunkers, to ensure optimal root growth and stability. These tree bunkers were placed under the roadway to create extra soil volume for planting and to prevent root pressure on the overlying pavement.

The project was carried out at the request of De Vlaamse Waterweg nv and the City of Oudenaarde. The renovated marina was festively opened on October 4, 2025.
