Commissioned by Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Herbosch-Kiere is constructing a new 362-metre-long quay wall at the Kanaaldok B2 in the Port of Antwerp.
This project forms an important part of Antwerp@C, the strategic programme aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions in the Antwerp port area by half in the long term.
The new quay infrastructure will be used to accommodate seagoing vessels exporting liquefied CO₂ to storage sites in depleted gas fields beneath the North Sea. In doing so, the project supports the development of a sustainable, circular, and climate-neutral industry within the port area.
The works commenced in September 2025 and are scheduled for completion by early 2027. Throughout execution, special attention is given to safety, environmental management, and operational efficiency within an active port environment.
