Herbosch-Kiere Supports Mercy Ships with Year-End Donation

Herbosch-Kiere donates a cheque for 5,000 euros to Mercy Ships.

Each year, Herbosch-Kiere donates €5,000 to a project or organization that holds a special place in the company’s heart. This year, the donation went to Mercy Ships, an international non-profit organization that provides free medical care and surgical treatments to the poorest people in Africa.

Mercy Ships operates with two modern hospital ships, the Africa Mercy and the Global Mercy, each equipped with six operating rooms. These ships deliver life-saving and life-changing medical assistance in areas where access to healthcare is severely limited or non-existent.

In addition to providing direct medical care, Mercy Ships also focuses on strengthening local medical capacity by training African professionals. This effort is crucial, as many African countries have on average only 0.7 surgeons per 100,000 people.

Mercy Ships’ work is made possible by approximately 3,000 volunteers from over 60 countries, including surgeons, nurses, crew members, cooks, and technicians.

Currently, the ships are operating in Madagascar and Sierra Leone, offering medical assistance to those who need it most. For more information, photos, and videos, visit https://www.mercyships.org/.
