About the project
A major factor in Herbosch-Kiere’s successful bid was its in-house, water-based construction methodology. By undertaking the works from the river using our own jack-up barge and specialist marine plant, we can significantly reduce disruption, minimise the impact on surrounding structures, and eliminate unnecessary interaction with public areas such as the footpath and revetment. This approach is safer, more efficient, and ideally suited to the constraints of this unique working environment.

As part of our commitment to delivering wider value to the local community, Herbosch-Kiere will be supporting several social value initiatives alongside the works. These include organising community beach cleans, recycling timber removed from the old jetty for potential reuse as public benches, and visiting a local school to deliver educational talks on engineering careers. We are also exploring the development of a community engagement website to keep residents informed and involved throughout the project.
