The old bridge over the Albert canal in Grobbendonk was badly damaged and needed to be replaced.
Herbosch-Kiere was responsible for the construction of a new 570-ton steel arch bridge with a span of 108 m. We built the abutments, installed the new bridge and also restored the bank protection on the left and right banks. We dug out the banks above and below the level of the canal in order to widen the Albert canal to 86 m. We built new paved roads, cycle paths and footpaths and put in street lighting, drainage and sewer systems.
