The works formed part of phase II of the Brabo project in which Elia was to strengthen the high-voltage grid in and around the Port of Antwerp and ensure the country’s general energy supply. In order to enable the Scheldt to be spanned, Herbosch-Kiere and Eiffage Energie built two new 192-metre-high masts on the banks of the river.
Herbosch-Kiere installed the foundation piles and carried out the concrete works for the concrete base, the connecting beam and the jetties. Eiffage Energie built the masts and carried out the line and infrastructure works.
