Herbosch-Kiere was involved in the construction of a prototype wave energy converter for Nemos in the North Sea. The platform is made available to companies and knowledge institutions for the purpose of testing or demonstrating new blue energy products.
The installation is located approximately 500 m from the Eastern breakwater at the Port of Ostend and Herbosch-Kiere was responsible for the special foundation, pile driving and assembly works. The whole assignment consisted of a number of elements including a 37-metre-long tubular pile weighing 50 tons which serves as the foundations for the structure. Our pontoon GAVERLAND was used for these works.
