Quay wall 602

At this location in the Port of Antwerp, the available depth of the water was insufficient for the new generation of tugboats that the port authority wanted to use. In order to be able to increase the depth of the water, a new steel sheet pile wall – anchored using ground anchors – had to be constructed on the water side of the existing sheet pile wall. The new quay wall was provided with a reinforced concrete cap with the necessary mooring masts.

The realisation of the new quay wall was carried out in 3 phases in order to cause minimum disruption to the tug operator.
