The project involved the construction of a new route between Saint-Denis and La Possession in Réunion. The new road replaced the existing coastal road that was exposed to landslides and waves in stormy weather. Herbosch-Kiere and Deme built a dyke 2700 m long.
DEME dredged the trench and Herbosch-Kiere used ATLANTIS to dump the first layers of rocky material. A total of 420,000 tons of rock were dumped in water more than 6 m deep.
