The infrastructure along the Roeselare-Leie Canal in Izegem is old and needs to be renewed. The tasks include dismantling the old quay wall and constructing a new quay wall that is approximately 330 meters long. Additionally, dredging works will be carried out, and ground protection will be installed to maintain the stability of the waterfront. Another crucial aspect of the project is the partial dismantling of the existing siphon 7 under the canal, followed by the construction of a new siphon. Furthermore, there is a plan to establish a segment of approximately 1 kilometer of the F36 bike highway along the Roeselare-Leie Canal in Izegem. This contributes to promoting sustainable transportation and provides an improved infrastructure for cyclists in the area.
