Start of the summer period with a milestone for the new Lys Bridge in Ingelmunster!
Together with our partner CSM Steelstructures, as part of the Temporary Joint Venture Herbosch-Kiere – CSM, we successfully installed the steel bridge deck of the new Lys Bridge on 2 July.
The bridge deck was transported by inland vessel from Genk and then carefully positioned between the concrete bridge piers using the floating crane HEBO-Lift 6.
Over the coming months, we will continue with the finishing works of the bridge. This brings the project another step closer to the completion of a safe and comfortable connection for cyclists and pedestrians across the Roeselare–Leie Canal.
The bridge deck in figures:
- 70 metres long
- 3.7 metres wide
- 5 metres high
- 170 tonnes of steel
The project is being carried out on behalf of De Vlaamse Waterweg nv.
